They toasted the success of their first efforts with a round of cold bottled waters. It was a perfect morning that was rapidly approaching mid-afternoon.
Cara let out a wail of frustration from the other room.
“Maybe we need to get her behind a mic,” he joked.
“No!” she shrieked.
David noted she was looking at her phone. He walked to her and she turned it to him, with her mouth forming a perfect O in horror. He took a look. The pictures that she and he took goofing around, kissing and embracing had been photo-shopped. The two of them were now naked in the same poses. His eyebrows nearly flew off his face. He passed the phone to Marissa and Tommy.
“Don’t show it to them!” she reached for it a moment too late.
“It’s not a real picture,” he said. “I’m sorry this happened. The only thing I find offensive is her naked body doesn’t do you justice at all. You look way better than that.”
Cara blushed hard.
He adored the pink color that rose on her cheeks. It had been a long time since he was around a person who had the decency to be embarrassed.
“I should have seen this coming,” he said. “I think Tommy and I better go have a talk with your ex.”
Marissa’s face was somber when she showed the group what she found on social media. It was a more realistic image of Cara in a bed—her face obviously transposed with whoever it really was—and Jay naked on the edge of the bed, smoking a cigarette.
David was livid. Even in pretend, he couldn’t tolerate the idea of Jay taking Cara. That asshole had taken so much and had been so destructive the night before that even a fake picture infuriated him.
“I might have to get my lawyer in on this,” he growled. He drew Cara close to him. “It will be okay.”
She leaned her head onto him and sighed.
Chapter Seven
Cara
Cara was beside herself. There were naked pictures of her plastered all over the internet. She was doing unspeakable things with men and women alike. What if her parents found them? She’d have to tell them. Since she’d gotten sober, she had to work hard to gain their trust and respect. This would ruin all the ground she’d gained.
At just a little over two years clean and sober, she still had a first thought of “wouldn’t a drink be nice right now?” But she quickly brushed that thought aside.
“I don’t know how I can go out in public anymore,” she lamented.
“This too shall pass,” said Marissa reminding her of the twelve-step slogan.
“It won’t be that bad,” David assured her. “Just go on about your business like always.”
“I have a job that deals with the public,” she argued gently. “Someone I wait on is bound to see these.”
He took in a deep breath. “They might,” he said. “How awake were you when I stopped by your work?” He sighed. “I didn’t exactly make a scene, but I think a few of your co-workers might know that you and I know each other. If I didn’t think I’d make things worse, I’d get you a couple more days off from work,” he said.
“I am off. I just had to work today. I go back on Tuesday. I work four shifts a week. Any more than that and they have to pay for health insurance, and they don’t want to do that.”
“Nice,” David said. “Gotta love corporate America.”
“It’s just until I finish school.” She hoped all the hubbub passed soon. She couldn’t afford to miss much work and she couldn’t afford to miss school.
“And what are we going to be when we grow up?” David asked with a sweet smile.
“A marketing geek,” she said.
“Hmm, a creative. I like that.”
“Yep,” she said.
“Well, I have an idea,” he said. “If you’re into it, we’re so close to Carmel. Why don’t we kick back for a few days down there? Unless you have school or something.”
“I can do an overnighter, maybe come back tomorrow night because I do have homework.”
He whispered in her ear. “I’m crushing on a school girl.”
She returned a whisper. “I like your stick.”
They finished up the session, getting the recordings to a satisfactory point.
Stan still tried to make peace between David and Jay. “While I think the day was a success, we should still have a sit down with Jay to smooth things out.”
“I’m not having a guy who date-rapes women on my label,” David said.
They piled in the Mercedes and dropped Tommy and Marissa home. By that time, David’s mechanic had delivered Tommy’s car to them. It was like magic.
He and Cara were now alone. He drove her to her place in Japantown to pick up fresh clothes. She rented the front half of a duplex that was definitely not a mansion in Sea Cliff or Pacific Heights.
She’d expected to own her own place by now. She didn’t need a mansion but something different from what she had currently. As she turned the key to her door, her insides clutched with regret for the choices she made that had set her back. She often went back in time to never taking that first drink that sent her spiraling down to the depths of despair.
David was sensitive. She knew he felt her embarrassment as she entered her humble living room.
“Are you okay?” he asked softly. “Is this overdoing it?”
“I’m fine,” she lied.
“You’re pulling away. Don’t. This thing with the naked pictures will work out. I’m going to have my guy come down hard on Gary, if that’s what you want. I actually have a press agent and we can consult her as to what’s best—”
“That’s not it entirely,” she said shushing him.
“Well, then, why don’t I shut up and listen,” he said with a smile.
“I have a hard time dealing with the detour my life took when I wound up with a drinking problem,” she said. “And even when I cleaned up my act, I still made dumb choices.”
“Hanging out with me is not one of them,” he added quickly.
She laughed, and it felt good.
“That’s a beautiful sound.”
She turned her head trying to process the random compliment.
“Do you know how dumb I felt that I didn’t know who you were?” she confessed.
“I didn’t feel dumb that I didn’t know you,” he teased.
“You know what I mean. I still don’t think of you as famous.”
“I don’t think of me as famous either. The whole celebrity thing is weird.” He shrugged. “It comes in handy getting hot women out of work, but other than that, it’s not always so great.”
He nuzzled her. Kissing the soft spot at the curve of her neck.
“Just so we’re clear about the reason I didn’t know who you were, was because I was drunk for the better part of my twenties.”
“If you want me to spank for you that, I will, but you seem to be doing a great job flogging yourself for it now.”
She turned scarlet red at the mention of a spanking. It embarrassed her but she couldn’t get rid of the goofy grin plastered to her face. He didn’t miss it, of course.
“Note to self. Remember to bring up spanking later,” he said.
Cara coughed.
He continued, “Seriously, at least you know where you were in your twenties. Lots of us make poor choices. You’re not there now, right?”
She stopped and thought about it. A great big smile crossed her face.
“Oh, my gosh, no, I’m not,” she answered with glee.
“There you go,” he replied, wrapping his arms around her.
“Thanks for making me see the positive.” She gave him a come-hither glance. “I was thinking I could shower before we leave. You want to join me?” she asked sensually.
“Just about every minute since I met you,” he said lovingly.
Cara was a tidy person, and that made her thankful. After David’s wise perspective, she started getting grateful about the small things, like she could bring a hot famous rockstar to her humble abode w
ith no notice, and it looked its best.
While she threw a few things into the bag, David tested her sloshy waterbed.
“Really?” he asked with a grin. “A waterbed?”
“It came with the place. It’s the only piece of furniture that’s not mine.”
“Oh?” he replied suggestively.
“I moved in here almost six months ago. I guess I could get another bed.”
“Six months ago? After you broke up with shit for brains?” he asked.
She laughed again. That happened a lot around him.
“Yes,” she said. “I—yes.”
“Ah, tell me.” He took her hand.
“When I got back on my feet, I lived in my parent’s basement. I was seeing him, and I thought once I could get a place of my own, we would get one together.”
With a big smile, David said, “And he dumped you.”
He made her giggle at her break up.
“Stop it,” she said.
And with that he grasped at her in ticklish spots. She dodged him, but he didn’t let up.
“So, did he ever sleep with you here?”
“Nooo,” she said shaking her head back and forth with gusto. “He was far too busy.”
“I like this guy more and more, except for the pictures.”
“I don’t want to think about him.” Gary had no place in her present life.
“You wanna hear my dumb break-up story?” he asked with a smile in his voice. “So, we can be even?”
“No, because then I’ll be insecure.”
“You do not have to be insecure. You’re the hottest woman I’ve met in quite some time. You had Jay salivating.”
“Is that the hotness yardstick? You’re sexy if the guy who would do anyone and anything likes you?” she joked.
David busted up. He laughed so hard he had to lay down on the bed.
“No, the fact that Jay likes you is irrelevant. He’s part of my dumb break-up story. Here’s the short version. He wants everything that’s mine. So far, he’s managed to come out on top. He stole my music, a hefty portion of my income, and my girlfriend. She was in love with the money, not the man. The only thing he’s managed to keep is the rights to my songs.”
“That’s awful. You deserve better friends and a way better girl.”
“I’ve got you, That’s a huge upgrade.”
“No need to worry. I’m not attracted to assholes or peacocks, but I am attracted to you.”
Just as she was going to run the bath water to warm it for the shower, he reached for her. He drew her down onto the bed and made the mattress wobble.
“I might get seasick,” he teased, but like an expert, he rose above her and looked down upon her the way he did when they got together the night before.
“Did you say you want to take a shower with me?” he asked like he was asking her on a date.
“Yes, I did” she replied, thoroughly charmed.
“Let’s go.”
Chapter Eight
David
Cara’s bathroom, like the rest of the house was vintage. It was small and David felt gargantuan in it whereas she was the right-size for the tiny room. When she drew back the curtain and turned on the water, he seized his opportunity to admire her backside.
He cupped her buttocks through the soft material of her dress. His fingers slipped just beneath, in between her legs. He pressed upward to her soft spot.
She sucked in her breath.
“I’m going to fall,” she half laughed.
He took hold of her arm and steadied her on her feet. He undressed her, kissing her as he did. They both had the same looks of mischief on their faces, anticipating the sweetness that they were about to share.
He worked the buttons of her light cotton blouse and peeled it from her shoulders. He cupped her face and kissed her. He’d been with so many women. Often it was a heartless engagement where he just used them to get off. He told himself they both got what they wanted. The women wanted to fuck a famous guy, and he just wanted to fuck. It was like having a glass of wine. Enjoy the current vintage and then move on to the next.
This woman was different. Maybe because things had changed for him and the career didn’t hold the same mystical magic that it had when it was new. He took on an appreciation for different things these days.
He appreciated her honest ways. She didn’t care that he was famous. Seemed to care less that he was rich. She wasn’t trying to fascinate him or be super sexy. She was herself around him, and that let him be him, which was a new experience. One he liked.
He drew his fingertip over the plump curves of her breasts, pushed up in under-wires. Her breasts were real as was all over body—something else that was a novelty. He unsnapped her bra. Her breasts dropped ever so slightly with a gentle cascade.
He palmed, kneaded, and pinched then arched down to take a pebbled tip between his teeth. He teased it with his tongue.
She gripped his head and then gently moved her hands to his shoulders, reacting to the attention he paid her. He kissed between her breasts and then turned her around, pressing her palms on the vanity. He trailed his lips down her spine as he pushed down her pants.
They both looked up and gazed into the mirror at themselves. She watched as he took off his shirt.
Staring at her in the mirror, he could see the front and back of her at the same time. Besides the erotic effect of seeing her completely naked, David noted that they looked really good together—like they belonged together.
Once he kicked off his pants, he lifted her into the shower and stepped in himself. They both dunked their heads under the running water. He slicked his back and out of his face. Her eyes grew wide.
“You’re so gorgeous. All you need is a tux,” she said.
He arched a brow. “You want me to put on clothes?”
“Not right now,” she replied breathily, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and raking her fingernails down the length of his back.
He ground his hips into her. David was hard for her, nudging her belly with his huge cock. He took a second and reached outside the shower for his jeans, taking out a condom.
He turned away from the falling water to slip on the latex, then eased back into the moment, washing her quickly, turning her around so that she was braced against the shower tiles.
“Hold on,” he whispered and slipped inside of her.
He drew her back against him with his forearm. Her beautiful ass pressed hard against his hips, flexing firmly with each thrust.
He wondered at the graceful contours of her body. Large breasts. Narrow waist. Her hips spread proportionately leading to that perfect ass. She had the classic hourglass shape.
He gripped her hips and thrust into her. The heat of the water warmed her body and she was like pumping into a tight, hot furnace. The way she turned him on, he wasn’t sure how long he’d last.
She reached for the shower head which was attached to a hose. She aimed it between their legs and sprayed them both. It was a wanton, lascivious move that escalated his arousal fiercely.
He was tempted to take it in hand and finish her with it—give her a taste of her own naughty medicine. Instead, he took her hand in his and guided it to where it was most needed. He wanted them to be equally paced so that they could find their pleasure together.
She took his cue and touched herself. He felt the pressure, moved with her, and as she pleasured herself, she pleasured him. He started praying out loud.
“Ah baby,” he said mindlessly, feeling the sensation build. “This is going to be quick.”
She dropped her head. He controlled her hips, grinding them against him as he pumped into her. They were working it, moving like a furious machine, silently, intently until they both exploded.
They finished the shower quickly as the water started to turn cold. They got out just before it turned to ice.
Cara pulled out two big towels from beneath the sink and they wrapped themselves.
“I’m
starved,” he confessed after they dressed.
“Do you like Japanese food?” she asked eagerly.
“I do.”
A few minutes later, they were outside in the warmth of the early evening air. They placed her bag in the back of the Mercedes and because it was such a pleasant evening in San Jose, they walked hand in hand to one of the nearby Japanese restaurants. For the first time in a long time, David was happy.
Chapter Nine
Cara
After dinner, they drove along the coast to Carmel to a spectacular place called the Cypress Inn. David asked for the suite with a baby grand in it. They dropped off their bags and took a walk. They weren’t going to buy anything, but they wanted to hit the shops before they closed.
Cara had to get used to the fact that people stopped David and either asked for his autograph or asked for a selfie.
No one in Japantown had bothered him but that was probably because no one there was south of seventy. They got stopped quite a bit in Carmel. A pair of women smiled at him, then flirted shamelessly right in front of her.
David was gracious, but fended them off. One woman lifted her shirt and exposed herself.
“Wow,” he said shielding his eyes. “Put those away.”
“Please sign?” she asked and batted her eyes.
“Put them away,” he repeated. “One picture fully clothed, and that’s it.”
Cara watched as his powerful arm pressed around one of the women’s back. Her mind fixed on how sexy he was, how masculine his arm was and thought that arm has been around me. David politely thanked them, and they went on their way. “I’m sorry about that.”
“I’d flash you,” she said flirtatiously.
He gave her a look that made her knees buckle. “Is that right?”
“We could have stayed at my place,” she whispered. “Surfed the water bed, watched TV. I love Carmel, it’s lovely, but I want it to be fun for you.”
